Sam Young (Advisor to the Management)

Sam Young is VP of Marketing and sales for Contour Semiconductor, a start-up with an innovative approach to non-volatile memory. Sam is also President and CEO fo Young and Associates, a firm formed to help pre-IPO companies in the area of sales channel and business development, strategic planning, general management, product and marketing positioning/strategy and strategic partnership creation. Sam has over 35 years of experience in memory, logic, software, RF and embedded products. He is co-founder of three high technology companies including Flash pioneer Excel Microelectronics (fundamental patent for flash memory), corsair Microsystems (leading supplied of DRAM modules with server hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue) and Hyundai Electronics Flash memory division currently doing in excess of $2 billion in revenue. Sam also held executive positions in several other successful companies ranging from start-up mode to hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

Sam chaired the EIA/JEDEC standards committee for all memory from 1976 - 1980 and ran Dataquest' s memory group as Director of worldwide memory research. He has authored numerous articles including two cover stories in leading industry publications and chaired many industry conference sessions. Sam holds a BSEE from Pratt University

He is a well-connected, accomplished Information Technology and Telecommunication professional with more than 23 years of extensive experience across all domains in varied verticals like Information Technology, Telecommunications, Tele-education, Tele-medicine, Cyber Park Intelligent building Consultancy etc. Worked in Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited as General Manager in various Broadband Projects and was a driving force in the organisation. An Ambassador of Change with the distinction of leading and implementing business solutions with P&L responsibility and deadlines. Possess strong Business development, Project management and Supervisory skills. Able to oversee activities of large groups and deliver quality results on time. Distinction of executing many IT projects like broadband, Pan-African e-Network Project, Data Centre, setting-up of Network Operations Centre and many IT projects for more than 15 years. Possess acknowledged competence in strategic management of business and technical matters with the distinction of driving new business initiatives, and achieving organizational objectives.

During the course of his career, he got extensive international experience for business development, alliance management, contract negotiation, conflict resolution etc. aimed towards making growth of international business. These have enabled him to have the requisite experience and capability to lead teams across the organisation, widely geographically dispersed and working in a highly dynamic business environment. Mr. TK Roy holds a masters in Radiophysics and Electronics from Calcutta University
